Description

Official "Uniform Player's Contract" dated December 20, 1923, between Bill Harris and the Cincinnati Base Ball Club. Signed in black fountain pen by team president "August Hermann." The unexecuted contract calls for Harris to receive a salary of $450 per month for the 1924 season. In addition his role as president of the Cincinnati Reds from 1902 to 1927, Herrmann was also the chairman of the three-man National Commission that was the ruling body of organized baseball for nearly two decades (1903-1920). The contract (8.5 x 11 inches) has a vertical and two horizontal folds with small tear at the bottom edge. In Good condition overall. Full LOA from James Spence/JSA.
