Description
Original photo of St. Louis Cardinals Hall of Fame slugger Stan Musial celebrating postgame after collecting his 3,000th career hit. Encapsulated and certified as an original Type I photo by PSA/DNA. Musial became the eighth player in Major League history to reach the milestone, doing so with a pinch-hit double against the Chicago Cubs on May 13, 1958, at Wrigley Field. Musial was the first and remains the only player to record his 3,000th hit as a pinch-hitter. The reverse bears the original paper news caption and an "International News Photos" credit stamp. The photo (7 x 9 inches) displays a small tear along the bottom border and is in Very Good condition overall.
