Offered is a very attractive partially complete set of 1948-1952 W468 Exhibits Football cards consisting of thirty-five different cards (out of 59), highlighted by fourteen Hall of Famers, including Sammy Baugh, Otto Graham, and Marion Motley. W468 Exhibits are one of the most substantial, yet perhaps most overlooked, vintage football sets from the postwar era. The classic Bowman sets from the era have naturally always been on all football-card collectors' radar, but there is little else in the way of major football sets from these key years (1948-1952). The Exhibit card series is a rare exception. Issued over four years (1948-1951) by the Exhibit Supply Co. of Chicago, this black-and-white football-card set features many of the greatest legends of the day. The cards, produced in 1951, were also issued in sepia-tone in 1952. Condition is 54% Nr/Mt to Nr/Mt-Mt, 31% Ex to Ex-Mt, and 15% Vg to Vg-Ex (including one lesser). This collection consists of the following: Albert, Barwegan, Baugh (Nr/Mt+), Canadeo, Conerly (Vg-Ex), Connor (Nr/Mt), Dottley, Fears (Ex-Mt), Geri, Graham (Ex+), Harder, Hirsch (Vg-Ex), Hoernschemeyer, Layne (Nr/Mt), Matson (Ex-Mt+), McColl, Morrison, Motley (Ex-Mt), Ortmann, Perry (Vg+), Ratterman, Rhodemyre, Rykovich, Sitko, Smith, Taliaferro, Tittle (partially erased pencil mark on front, otherwise Fr), Trippi (Nr/Mt-Mt), Tripucka, Tunnell (Nr/Mt-Mt), Turner (Nr/Mt+), Waterfield (Ex-Mt), Williams, Young, and Younger. An extremely attractive and mostly high-grade collection of cards with several notable highlights, representing an outstanding start to the completion of one of the most overlooked of all football issues. Total: 35 cards.
