Description

Official League baseball signed in black ink by seventeen members of Ben Harjo's All-Indian Baseball Club, most notably Jim Thorpe. Ben Harjo's All-Indian Baseball Club was an Oklahoma-based Native American barnstorming team that toured the country during the 1932 and 1933 seasons, facing local clubs, Western League teams, and eventually the Kansas City Monarchs and other top eastern opponents. The 1933 tour was headlined by Thorpe, who served as a player-manager and whose celebrity status helped draw large crowds. The ball, coated with a light layer of protective shellac, displays several tiny surface abrasions. Per JSA, the date "August 16, 1933" was written in an unknown hand. Good condition overall. Full LOA from James Spence/JSA.
