Near-complete set of 1961 Topps football consisting of 197 different cards, missing only #182 Otto for completion. The 1961 Topps Football set is one of the most popular of the decade for its simple design, crisp images, and brilliant colors. Condition is 16% Ex-Mt to Nr/Mt (including one Nr/Mt-Mt+), 53% Vg-Ex to Ex, and 31% Gd to Vg (including eight lesser and a couple with a slight miscut). Keys: #1 Unitas (Gd+ due to heavily scratched reverse), 39 Starr (Vg), 40 Hornung (Vg), 59 Brodie RC (85/15 L/R, otherwise Nr/Mt), 71 Brown (BVG VG-EX 4), 77 Brown IA (100/0 T/B, otherwise Ex), 95 Jurgensen (color added, otherwise Fr), 122 Checklist (marked, otherwise Vg+ 145 Blanda (trimmed, otherwise Fr-Gd), 150 Maynard RC (Nr/Mt+), 166 Kemp (Vg), 186 Flores RC (Gd+), 190 L. Taylor RC (15/85 L/R, otherwise Vg-Ex), and 198 Checklist (partially erased marks, otherwise Vg-Ex+). Very attractive near-complete early 1960s Topps football set (minus one), including many Hall of Famers and stars of the era. Total: 197 cards.
