Description

Graded FAIR 1.5 by PSA (submitted by REA). Extremely rare caramel card of Hall of Famer Ty Cobb as a member of the Philadelphia Athletics from the 1927 E126 American Caramel set. This set is of special note as it was produced in the final year that the American Caramel Company issued cards. Significantly fewer examples from the E126 set are offered compared to the earlier sets produced by American Caramel. The offered example is boldly printed, well-centered, and displays honest wear to the four corners. Moderate creasing accounts for the assigned grade. This is a very attractive mid-grade example of this rare Ty Cobb caramel-card dating from 1927. Despite being more than 40 years old, Cobb hit a remarkable .357 for the season.
