Graded NM+ 7.5 by SGC. Only two examples are graded higher by SGC to date. Outstanding high-grade example of Babe Ruth (Type 2) from the 1932 Sanella Margarine series. Issued in Germany, this beautiful full-color issue of 112 different subjects measures 2-3/4 x 4-1/8 inches and includes all types of athletes (boxing, football, tennis, wrestling, track, etc.). The text on the reverse is printed in German. The card features a full-color image of Ruth hitting a homer. There are three different back-printing variations of the set. The offered example is the “Type 2” variation, which has a Sanella advertisement located toward the bottom border. This card has brilliant colors, a crisp image, and strong corners with slight touches of wear. Boldly printed reverse. For the Ruth collector not interested in paying a king's ransom for his cards from the popular 1933 Goudey series but who still wants original 1930-era vintage cards of Babe Ruth, the 1932 Sanella Margerine series presents an exceptional opportunity.
