Lot # 2385: Signed Circa 1920s Tony Lazzeri Original Thorne Studios Photograph PSA/DNA Type I

Original photo of Tony Lazzeri as a member of the New York Yankees, taken by Thorne Studios sometime between the years 1927 and 1929, signed and inscribed by the Hall of Fame second baseman in vintage black fountain pen. PSA/DNA has encapsulated the photo and certified both the signature as "Authentic" and the photograph as a Type I. Lazzeri has inscribed the photo "To Joe Kirkland (faded)/From/Tony Lazzeri (signed)." The photo captures Lazzeri in his follow-through swing on the sidelines during spring training. A "Thorne Photo" credit stamp appears on the reverse. (Thorne Studios was one of several photography studios used by the Yankees to take official publicity/reference photos for the club.) The photo (7-7/8 x 9-7/8 inches) displays moderate-to-heavy creases and a two chipped corners. In Fair condition overall.
