Original photo featuring Hall of Famers Babe Ruth and Miller Huggins as members of the New York Yankees during the 1927 season. The 1927 Yankees, powered by Ruth, Lou Gehrig, and the other members of baseball’s famed “Murderers' Row,” are still considered by many historians to be the greatest team ever assembled. Encapsulated and certified by PSA/DNA as an original Type I photograph. Huggins is captured squeezing Ruth's impressive bicep in a playful moment. The reverse of the photo has a "Newspaper Enterprise Association" credit stamp, a "Mar 18 1927" date stamp, and an editorial notation. It is interesting to note that this particular image on the offered photo was used in the production of card #137 Babe and Mgr. Huggins in the 1962 Topps series. Please note Ruth's head is at a very slightly different angle than what appears on the final issued card, noted for accuracy. Photos used in the production of trading cards have become increasingly popular in recent years. The photo (8 x 10 inches), which has exceptional clarity, has light creases and three small tears along the right edge. Very Good condition overall.
