Lot # 3003: Circa 1910 Hank Gowdy Scrapbook

This 253-page scrapbook is dedicated to the career of longtime Major League catcher Hank Gowdy. The scrapbook is filled with newspaper clippings about Gowdy. He holds the distinction of being the first major league player to enlist for military service in World War I, and also enlisted for service (at the age of 53) in World War II. The scrapbook (6 x 16 inches) exhibits heavy wear and is in Fair condition overall. Please note that the interior pages are very brittle.
