Presented is a red-and-black stitched Spalding brand “Official National/International League” baseball (Toole) signed by twelve members of the 1928-1929 New York Yankees, including Gehrig, Durocher, Bengough, Meusel, O'Leary (coach), Grabowski, Robertson, Mathews (coach), Fletcher (coach), and three we could not identify. Based upon the manufacturer's stampings, this ball was produced from 1921 to 1928. The ball, which is stamped "Official National League" on one of the sweet spots, and "Official International League" on the opposite sweet spot, was used for International League play because it bears the facsimile signature of John C. Toole on the a side panel. Toole was president of the International League from 1920-1928, which means that it is highly probable that Gehrig signed this ball during the heart of his Hall of Fame career, which only adds to its appeal. The ball has moderate soiling and a few surface abrasions. In Good condition overall. Full LOA from James Spence/JSA.
