Lot # 2640: Signed 1974-1975 Topps Basketball #18 John Brisker - JSA

Extremely rare 1974-1975 Topps basketball John Brisker card #18 signed by him in blue marker on the front. This is the first signed example of this card we have ever offered and the first we have ever seen! As anyone who has ever attempted to assemble an autographed set of 1974-1975 Topps basketball cards knows, Brisker is one of the key rarities to the assembly of a collection of all possible signed 1974-1975 Topps basketball cards. The reason for that is timing. Brisker allegedly left for Uganda in March of 1978. His last confirmed communication was when he called his girlfriend on April 11, 1978 and he was declared dead in absentia on May 29, 1985. Going off the date of his last confirmed communication, this left autograph collectors with less than a four-year window of opportunity to obtain his signature on the card.
