Rare Federal League stock certificate, dated August 5, 1914, issued by "The Federal Base Ball Club of Baltimore, Inc." The certificate, for five shares of "Preferred Capital Stock, is numbered "118" and made out to "Poe & Davies." It has been signed in black fountain pen along the base by both the club's treasurer, "Arthur L. Jones," and president, "Carrol W. Rasin." The Federal League was only in existence from 1914-1915. As such, all items related to the league are scarce. This example is no exception, and the fact that it dates from the first season of the "outlaw" league makes it especially desirable. The certificate (11.5 x 8.25 inches) displays three punch holes along the left border but is otherwise in Excellent condition overall.
