Lot # 2263: 1910 New Orleans Pelicans Season-Ticket Booklet - Shoeless Joe Jackson on Team

Rare ticket book, containing 11 unused tickets, issued by the New Orleans Base Ball Club for the club's 1915 season. As noted on the front cover, this is season-ticket book number "33" and was issued to "Hon. Chas. Dugas," a city official. The 11 that remain are for games 60 through 70. These tickets would have granted the bearer the opportunity to watch a young outfielder for the New Orleans Pelicans by the name of Joe Jackson. 1910 marked the only season "Shoeless Joe" was with New Orleans, and it was certainly a memorable one as he led the Southern Association in batting average (.354), hits (165), and runs (82). The book (4.5 x 2 inches) displays moderate wear, with several tiny surface indentations and abrasions visible on the front and back covers. In Good condition overall. Each of the 11 tickets (3.75 x 2 inches) remains firmly attached to the spine and is in Near Mint condition.
