Presented is a signed copy of Babe Ruth's Baseball Advice (Rand McNally & Co., Chicago, 1936), featuring not only the signature of Babe Ruth but also an inscription and date from the legendary New York Yankees Hall of Famer. On the first interior page, Ruth has inscribed "To Joseph Bihler / Best Wishes / From Babe Ruth 1936" boldly in blue fountain pen. Joe Bihler was a very close business associate of Ruth. He worked for many years on Ruth's promotional projects under Christy Walsh, who was Ruth's business manager. The 32-page soft-cover book (8-1/4 x 11-1/4 inches) displays moderate handling including an area of paper loss on the front cover and a small tear on the bottom edge. In Good condition overall. In 1999, this item appeared as Lot 1048 in the historic sale of Barry Halper's collection; the original Sotheby's auction tag accompanies the book. Full LOA from James Spence/JSA.
