Description
Original news photo of legendary boxer Jack Dempsey in 1929. Encapsulated and certified as an original Type I photograph. Dempsey is pictured training just a few years after his last professional fight, which occurred in 1927. The original "Associated Press" paper news caption dated "3/29/'29" appears on the reverse, along with several stamps and a newspaper headshot of Dempsey, which is taped on. The photo, which has been trimmed to its current dimensions of 7-3/8 x 8-1/2 inches, has a chipped top left corner and purple ink staining along the bottom of Dempsey's image. Good condition overall.
