Description

Original news photo of Hall of Fame pitcher Rube Marquard as a member of the New York Giants during the 1911 season. The photo was produced by "Bain News Service." Certified as an original Type I photograph by PSA/DNA. Marquard is pictured on the sideline in a follow-through pose. Marquard had arguably the best season of his career in 1911, posting a 24-7 record, 2.50 ERA, and a National League-leading 237 strikeouts. The reverse bears a pair of "Bain News Service" credit stamps and a "Sep 9-1911" date stamp. The photo (4 x 5 inches) displays a chipped top-left corner and is in Very Good condition overall.
