Lot # 2615: Circa 1909 Chicago Cubs Original Photograph Collection (13)

Collection of eleven original photos featuring Chicago Cubs players warming up prior to a game, dating from the 1909 season. Although these photos are undated, the uniform the players are wearing is a one-year style the Cubs wore on the road during the 1909 season. Ten photos display a "Spooner & Wells, Inc - Photographers" credit stamp on the reverse, while the remaining photo has no credit stamp (pencil markings are visible). All measure approximately 6-1/4 by 4-1/2 inches. Also included are two additional photos; one in-action sliding image (player sliding appears to have St. Louis across his jersey) and one grandstand image of the crowd (stadium unidentified). The photos display light creases and evidence of album removal on the reverse, while four have a chipped corner as well. Ranging from Fair to Very Good condition overall. Total: 13 photos.
