Presented is a collection of twenty-eight (two different) 1922 Oorang Indians government postcards dating from Jim Thorpe's first season as coach with the team. 1922 marked the inaugural season in the National Football League (NFL) for the Oorang Indians, which lasted only two years as the team folded after the 1923 season. Twenty-one postcards promote a game between Oorang and Milwaukee on November 19th, while he remaining seven promote a game between Oorang and Columbus on November 30th. Twenty postcards are stamped "1 Ticket - John Baptiste Thunder" on the front. Four postcards have been addressed and mailed. Each postcard is encapsulated as "Authentic" by SGC. Eighteen postcards range from Vg to Vg-Ex and ten range from Pr to Fr. Total: 28 postcards.
