This collection is highlighted by the following: 1) September 15, 1924. Congratulatory message from Christy Walsh, the longtime business agent of Babe Ruth. Based on the date the telegram was sent, it appears Walsh is congratulating Johnson for winning the 1924 American League MVP Award. 2) September 30, 1924. Congratulatory message from Johnson's hometown of Coffeyville, Kansas. The town congratulated Johnson and his Washington Senators for winning the 1924 American League pennant and wished them best of luck in the upcoming World Series. 3) March 11, 1927. An apology message from teammate Joe Judge. During spring training just days earlier, Judge hit a line drive that fractured Johnson's ankle. 4) 1928. Congratulatory message from John Howe, director of revenue and finance for the Newark Bears. Howe congratulated Johnson for being appointed as manager of the Newark Bears of the International League. Many of the telegrams are mounted onto album pages and present in Very Good to Excellent condition overall. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from Henry W. Thomas, Walter Johnson's grandson. Total: 47 telegrams.
