Lot # 2136: 1933 "Who's Who in Major League Baseball" Multi-Signed Book with Walter Johnson and Earl Averill - JSA

The 1933 hard-bound edition of Who's Who in Major League Baseball, which features beautiful studio portraits and full-page biographies of every Major League player, has long been hailed as one of the most attractive baseball books ever produced. Autograph collectors in particular took a special liking to the book, for the player pages were ideally suited for acquiring signatures. Offered here is an example signed by seven players, including Hall of Famers Walter Johnson (page 233) and Earl Averill (page 69). All of the players have signed the book in black fountain pen. The remaining signatures in the book are those of Dutch Holland, Bill Knickerbocker, Thornton Lee, Hal Trosky, and Joe Vosmik. The book, which does not include the rare, original dust jacket, displays moderate wear, including abrasions and a few stains to the covers, as well as slight separation along the spine (all of the page remains firmly bound together).
