George Sisler H&B signature-model (predating model numbers) pro-stock bat dating from the 1946 to 1948 (post-career) manufacturing period. Per PSA/DNA, the "bat is un-cracked and exhibits evidence of light use. A few ball marks are visible on the left and right barrel." Please note that pro-stock bats were ordered by MLB baseball teams for team use and at times, for the named player. In the rare instances where the team orders a bat specifically for the named player, the model number, length, and weight will match bats appearing on the player's Professional Bat Ordering Record during the referenced labeling period. These bats were ordered in bulk, generally by the dozens, to be used in spring training, batting practice, and by Minor League affiliates. Teams would assemble an index of player names and the models of their bats. The index was referred to when ordering large numbers of bats. Pro-stock model bats generally trade at a considerable discount to their player-ordered professional model counterparts, often representing an outstanding more affordable alternative. Length: 36 inches. Weight: 42.8 ounces. The size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot.
