"Life Membership" card issued to Bobby Wallace by the Association of Professional Ball Players of America (APBPA). The gold metallic card, numbered 38, features the organization's colorful logo to the left of Wallace's engraved name. The name of the Association's secretary, "Win Clark," appears in the lower left corner. (Clark was a former major league player with Louisville in 1897; he died in 1959.) The Association of Professional Ball Players of America is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 1924 to provide financial assistance to professional ballplayers, as well as scouts, umpires, or even clubhouse attendants who are in need. Today, the organization's membership numbers over 101,00. The card (4 x 2 inches) displays moderate wear, including tarnishing, scratches, and adhesive residue on the reverse. Very Good condition overall.
