Description

Original news photo of Babe Ruth as a member of the New York Yankees during the 1929 season. Encapsulated and certified as an original Type I photo by PSA/DNA. A dejected Ruth is captured watching the action from the dugout. Per the original "Associated Press News" news caption affixed to the reverse, dated "7/21/'29," Ruth strained a muscle in his left leg earlier in the game, relegating him to a spectator role. In addition to the original news caption, the reverse displays an "Associated Press News" credit stamp and a few editorial notations. The photo (6 x 8 inches) exhibits a chipped top-right corner and scattered creasing. Good condition overall.
