Original news photo of St. Louis Cardinals Hall of Fame first baseman Jim Bottomley used in the production of Bottomley's 1929 R315 "Portraits and Actions" card. The photo captures the legend warming up before a game. An "International News Photo" credit stamp appears on the reverse, along with the original paper news caption dated "9-26-28." A second credit stamp ("The Cleveland News") appears on the reverse as well. Photos used in the production of trading cards have become increasingly popular in recent years. This is one of only a small number of vintage photos we have seen featuring an image used in the 1929 R315 set. The photo (5 x 7 inches) displays a few light creases. In Excellent condition overall. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
