Original photo of Christy Mathewson and Ty Cobb posing together during the 1911 World Series. The photo was produced by the "Paul Thompson Agency." Encapsulated and certified as an original Type I photograph by PSA/DNA. The 1911 World Series featured a matchup between Mathewson's New York Giants and the Philadelphia Athletics. Despite Mathewson's strong 2.00 ERA across three starts and 27 innings pitched, the Giants were largely unable to generate offense and fell to the Athletics in six games. The reverse bears Thompson's credit stamp and a few editorial notations. The photo, which has been trimmed along the bottom edge and measures 8.5 x 6.5 inches, displays exceptional clarity and is in Excellent condition overall.
