Description

Vintage photo of Ted Williams as a member of the San Diego Padres (Pacific Coast League), used in the production of Williams' 1959 Fleer card. Encapsulated and certified as an original Type III photograph by PSA/DNA. Per PSA/DNA, the "photo is a period example that was made from a duplicate negative featuring an image originally taken by the Associated Press." The reverse bears a paper news caption and a stray ink mark. The folded-over caption reads "Ted Williams, schoolboy prospect with the San Diego Padres this season (1937) is rated likely to win a spot in the first line outfield. -Special-." The photo (7 x 9-1/8 inches) is in Very Good to Excellent condition overall.
