Exceedingly rare New York Giants full ticket issued for Game 1 of the 1912 World Series held at the Polo Grounds on October 8th. Graded VG 3 by PSA. This is one of only three 1912 World Series Game 1 full tickets listed in the PSA Population Report. Many historians consider the 1912 World Series, which is the only World Series in history to feature a deciding Game 8, one of the most exciting Series ever played. (A few other World Series went eight games, but they were all best of nine; the 1912 was best of seven, but included one tie.) Four of the games were decided by one run, and two games went into extra innings. Boston ace "Smokey Joe" Wood defeated the Giants Jeff Tesreau 4-3 in Game 1, with Wood going the distance in the victory. The ticket (6.25 x 2 inches) displays light-to-moderate creasing.
