Boston Red Sox home jersey worn by Hall of Fame outfielder Carl Yastrzemski during the 1972 season. Graded A9 by MEARS. The white knit jersey is lettered "Red Sox" across the front and features the number "8" on the reverse. All letters and numerals are appliquéd in red on blue tackle twill. Located on the interior front tail are a "1972" year tag, a "McAuliffe" label, and a "42" size tag. The jersey, which is completely original, is unaltered and displays heavy use. This shirt originated from the family member of a Boston Red Sox player. One of the greatest players in Red Sox history, Yastrzemski is one of only a few players in all of baseball to amass over 400 home runs and 3,000 hits. Among his many other individual accomplishments and awards are three batting titles, a home run title, a Triple Crown, an MVP Award and seven Gold Glove Awards. Today, his number "8" is among the few ever retired by the Red Sox. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1989. Graded A9 by MEARS (base grade of 10, with 1 point deducted for thread remnants and fading to twill). Full LOA from MEARS.
