Offered here is the earliest New York Giants road jersey we have ever offered dating from 1907. Graded A8 by MEARS. The gray road flannel jersey, which predates uniform numbers, is simply lettered "NY" across the front in blue felt letters (now faded to light purple). A "Spalding" label is located in the collar, along with a vintage strip tag with faded ink (illegible). This is an extremely rare one-year style jersey, which was worn by the Giants only during the 1907 season. The jersey, which is completely original, is unaltered and displays heavy use, including one missing button and one cracked button. Jerseys dating from the dead-ball era are exceedingly rare, with literally less than a dozen examples known. Although the jersey displays no player identification, this remains a significant and rare one-year style dead-ball era flannel jersey. Graded A8 by MEARS (base grade of 10, with 2 points deducted for lack of positive player identification). Full LOA from MEARS.
