Description

Scarce ticket stub issued for Game 2 of the 1917 World Series between the Chicago White Sox and New York Giants, held at Comiskey Park in Chicago on October 7th. PSA has encapsulated the ticket and certified it as "Authentic." This is one of only three 1917 Game 2 World Series ticket stubs evaluated by PSA. The White Sox defeated the New York Giants four games to two in the 1917 World Series, with Red Faber accounting for three of the wins. Eddie Collins, Joe Jackson, and Buck Weaver were among the hitting stars during the series, with each posting averages over .300. The ticket stub (1-5/16 x 2-5/8 inches) displays heavy creases throughout and evidence of album removal on the reverse. An irregular hand cut is visible along the bottom edge.
