Cincinnati Reds game cap worn by Hall of Fame catcher Johnny Bench, dating to the 1975 and 1976 seasons. The red wool cap displays the Reds logo on the front in white embroidery. A "KM" label appears along the back of the interior leather headband. The "KM Pro Cap" insignia is also stamped on the headband, along with the size "7 1/2." Bench's uniform number "5" is written in black marker along one of the interior panels. The cap displays heavy wear throughout. A two-time home-run champion and winner of two MVP Awards and 10 consecutive Gold Glove Awards, Bench was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1989, his first year of eligibility. In 1999, he received his final honor when he was named as one of two catchers to baseball’s All-Century Team. Full LOA from MEARS.
