Description

New York Mets game cap worn by Hall of Fame pitcher Tom Seaver, dating from the 1969 to 1976 seasons. The blue wool cap displays the Mets logo on the front in orange embroidery. A "KM" label appears along the back of the interior leather headband. The "KM Pro Cap" insignia is also stamped on the headband, along with the size "7 3/8." Seaver's uniform number "41" is written in black marker on the underside of the brim. The cap displays heavy wear throughout. One of the game's all-time great pitchers, Seaver was at the peak of his powers during the late 1960s to the mid 1970s. From 1969 to 1976, Sever won three Cy Young Awards, logging 150 victories, 2.47 ERA, and 129 complete games. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1989, his first year of eligibility. Full LOA from MEARS.
