Description

Original news photo of Hall of Fame first baseman Lou Gehrig. Encapsulated and certified as an original Type I photograph by PSA/DNA. The image pictures Gehrig in close-up at the plate as he awaits the next pitch. A "Field Enterprises Inc." credit stamp appears on the reverse along with a "Jun 19 1932" date stamp, Gehrig's written name and an editorial notation. The photo (6.75 x 9.25 inches) displays faint grease pencil production markings (1/2 COL MORTISE) to the left and right of Gehrig's image, spots of surface flaking, and light creasing. Good condition overall.
