Description

Original news photo of New York Yankees Hall of Famer Lou Gehrig. Encapsulated and certified as an original Type I photograph by PSA/DNA. Gehrig is pictured holding a bat as he poses on the field at Yankee Stadium in 1929. An "International News Photos Inc." credit stamp is on the reverse along with the original paper news caption dated "7-2-29." As noted in the caption, Gehrig was the American League leader in home runs with 21 at the time of the photograph, but once again he was overtaken by teammate Babe Ruth, who led the league with 46. The photo (6 x 8 inches) has light rippling throughout, two tiny corner chips (upper left and lower right), and the paper caption on the reverse is reattached with clear tape. In Good to Very Good condition overall. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
