Description

One-page typed letter dated September 11, 1935, and signed by Babe Ruth. In this inspirational letter, written on Ruth's personal letterhead, he writes to a youngster who shares his passion for our national pastime. In full: "Dear Tweed:- Your mother has told me what a wonderful little boy you are and also that you are developing into a good ball player. That's fine. I am glad to hear it. You know, I started to play when I was a boy but we did not have the equipment the boys have today. When you are young is the time to learn. Keep practicing and always try to improve yourself. With best wishes, Cordially yours, Babe Ruth [signed]." Ruth's signature has been scripted in black fountain pen. The letter (8-3/8 x 10-3/4 inches, unfolded) has a horizontal mailing fold, light toning, and a few minor surface wrinkles. In Very Good condition overall. Full LOA from James Spence/JSA.
