Description

Barry Bonds Louisville Slugger block-letter (full name) model ("H238") bat dating from the 1993-1997 manufacturing period. Graded GU 9.5 by PSA/DNA. The cupped-end bat, which is not cracked, displays evidence of moderate to heavy use, including ball marks (with black-ink transfers), checking (grain swelling), and a light coat of pine tar on the upper handle. Bonds' uniform number ("25") is written on the knob in black marker. Bonds was a member of San Francisco Giants between the years 1993 and 1997, and it was during that five-year span that he emerged as one of the game's great home run hitters. He led the league in home runs in 1993 with 46, and he followed that up with home run totals of 37, 33, 42, and 40 over the next four seasons. Although Bonds is best remembered for his single-season (73) and career (762) home-run records, he was also a seven-time MVP (a Major League record) and nine-time Gold Glove Award recipient. Today he ranks among the top 10 all time in numerous offensive categories, including on-base percentage (.444), slugging percentage (.607), games played (2,986), runs scored (2,227), total bases (5,976), RBI (1,996), and bases on balls (2,558). Length: 34 inches. Weight: 31.4 ounces. Full LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA. The size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot.
