Washington Senators press pin issued for the 1925 World Series against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The pin features a scalloped configuration with a representation of two crossed bats and a baseball as its central design. "World Series" is lettered in gold along the top within a blue enamel banner. Washington lost its bid to repeat as World Champions in 1925, losing a hard-fought seven-game series to the Pirates. Walter Johnson, who had limited Pittsburgh to just one run combined in his two earlier complete-game Series victories (Game 1 and Game 4), was victimized in Game 7 by two key errors by shortstop Roger Peckinpaugh, which led to four unearned runs in the club's 9-7 defeat. The game marked Johnson's last appearance in the Fall Classic. The pin is in overall Near Mint condition. Manufactured by Dieges & Clust; threaded-post back. Diameter: 7/8 inches.
