Original photo capturing Hall of Fame third baseman Frank Baker as a member of the New York Yankees, circa 1919. The photo was produced by "Paul Thompson Agency." Certified as an original Type 1 Paul Thompson photograph by PSA/DNA. Thompson's credit stamp appears on the reverse, as does the pencil notation "Baker - Yankees." Baker batted .293 with a team-high 10 home runs and 83 RBI in 1919, which was his fourth season in New York. He retired with the Yankees in 1922, finishing his career with a .307 lifetime average, 96 home runs, and 987 RBI (lofty totals during baseball's dead-ball era). He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1955. This photo was originally obtained at the sale of the Baseball Magazine archives at Christie's in 1996 and, as such, bears the special hologram label from that sale on the reverse. The photo (8 x 10 inches) displays moderate creasing and light soiling on the reverse. In Good condition overall. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
