Lot # 2187: 1916 Draper & Maynard Athletic Goods Catalog with Joe Jackson on Cover and Walter Johnson and Honus Wagner on Interior Pages

Extremely rare and desirable 1916 Draper & Maynard retail catalog featuring black-and-white illustrations of the company's complete line of baseball goods and other sporting equipment. The 72-page soft-cover catalog, which is devoted mostly to baseball items, also includes legendary Joe Jackson on the cover. There are portrait photos of legendary players on some of the interior pages, including Joe Jackson, Walter Johnson, Sam Crawford, Grover Alexander, Zack Wheat, Miller Huggins, and Honus Wagner. This is the first example of this particular catalog we have ever seen and it is a treasure trove of information for vintage baseball-equipment collectors. The catalog (5.75 x 7.5 inches) displays a punch hole in the upper-left corner (extending all the way through the catalog) and moderate handling wear. Technically in Fair condition, but with superior visual appeal.
