This colorful counter display, issued by Munsing circa 1910, pays homage to two of America's favorite pastimes: baseball and lounging around in your underwear. The Munsing Union Suit advertising displays are clearly among the most distinctive baseball-related advertising pieces ever produced. This die-cut cardboard display featuring a infielder was one of a series produced by Munsing (we offered the batter two decades ago). The display features an easel back designed to allow it to stand freely on a store counter or floor. These signs were produced by the Edwards & Deutsch Litho Co. of Chicago, as noted along the base. The display (7.75 x 14.75 inches), which has been mounted to a thicker backing (10 x 17 inches), displays a heavy crease across his glove arm and moderate edge wear. In Good condition overall. The size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot.
