Lot # 2465: Circa 1910s Philadelphia Phillies National League Park Panoramic Photograph

Striking, original, panoramic photo capturing the Phillies' National League Park in Philadelphia (later known as the Baker Bowl) during an annual event held each autumn by the Philadelphia Police Department. The show, which served as a fundraiser for the Widows' and Orphans' Fund, featured events such as foot races, boxing matches, and band music. Taken from a little behind home plate, the photo features the entire police force lined up in a parade formation along the ballpark's interior. Fans are visible in the seated areas while marching band members are pictured in the lower left. Several prominent advertisements are visible in the outfield, including ones for Schmidt's Beer, Bull Durham Smoking Tobacco, and Fatima Cigarettes. The photo (14.5 x 7 inches; visible dimensions) displays a vertical fold line down the middle and is in apparent Excellent condition overall (please note we have not examined the photo out of the frame).
