Description

Vintage photo of Babe Ruth at the plate in a swing-through pose. Encapsulated and certified as an original Type IV photograph by PSA/DNA. The image, from 1921, captures Ruth during his second season with the New York Yankees. The reverse bears several "Browns Brothers" credit stamps and editorial notations. It is interesting to note that this particular image on the offered photo was used in the production of several of Ruth's cards, including his 1929-1930 Rogers Peet, 1932 Sanella Margarine, and 1932 Astra cards. Photos used in the production of trading cards have become increasingly popular in recent years. The photo (8 x 10 inches) exhibits scattered creasing and a chipped bottom-left corner. Fair condition overall.
