Description

Original glass-plate negative from the Brown Brothers Photo Archives featuring Ty Cobb as a member of the Detroit Tigers. Cobb is pictured standing on the sidelines as he stares directly at the camera. The name and team "Tyrus Cobb Detroit Americans" is etched into the top edge. Although no year is listed, the uniform style shown here was worn by the Tigers only in 1915. A type I photograph featuring this exact image was sold as lot 1865 in REA's Fall 2021 auction. The negative (7 x 5 inches) displays minor handling wear and is in Excellent condition overall. Please note the fourth image is not included in the lot as it only serves as a reference image of what the negative looks like when developed.
