Lot # 2484: Circa 1933 Frank "Shanty" Hogan Boston Braves Game-Used Road Uniform (Jersey and Pants) MEARS A6

Exceedingly rare Boston Braves road uniform (jersey and pants) worn by catcher Frank "Shanty" Hogan circa 1933. Graded A6 by MEARS. The gray-colored button down flannel jersey is lettered "Braves" across the front, with a small "Indian Chief" patch displayed in the center between the "A" and "V." All letters are appliquéd in red on black felt. A large "Indian Chief" patch adorns the left sleeve. A "Horace Partridge" label appears in the collar, along with "Hogan" chain-stitched in red on a white strip tag. The player number on the reverse appears to have been removed. Aside from the fact that the number is not present, the jersey is original as issued, with no other alterations, and it displays moderate wear, including a red stain on the front and a few small holes. The matching gray-colored flannel pants feature a "Horace Partridge 44" label in the waistband. Also located in the waistband is "Hogan" chain-stitched in red on a white strip tag. The pants display moderate wear, including a few stains. The offered uniform is exceptional in all respects and would make a substantial addition to any advanced collection.
