Lot # 2391: Circa 1930s Ty Cobb The Sporting News Photograph PSA/DNA Type II

Vintage photo culled from "The Sporting News" archive of Ty Cobb as a member of the Detroit Tigers. Certified as an original Type II photograph by PSA/DNA (a photograph, developed from the original negative during a later period, two-plus years after the picture was taken). Based upon the photographic quality of the image, this photo is a later print, dating from the 1930s. Cobb is pictured on the sideline looking into the distance, carrying three bats. A credit stamp from "The Sporting News" and printed text reading "Ty Cobb about 1910" appear on the reverse along with several editorial notations. The photo (8 x 10 inches) displays a few creases and staining on the back. Good condition overall.
